(Dr. N. D. Sorokin) New law in the Russian Federation where more power is given to the subjects of the Federation. The latters will have the control over norms for waste and dangerous substances. It's part of the environmental passport of the territory. It gdelegates national expertise to the subject. Everything which is done in the project will comply with the new law. More than 100 municipal self-governments in St. Petersburg, and should be equal in territory and numbers to the actual raiion in the city. Project results would therefore be very useful.
(Elena Titova) Project implementation. Two tasks were implemented:
Three seminars were also organised not in the frame of the project but directly related to “ecological passport” of the city: in February 2005, in September 2005, and the last on information technology with representatives from other regions as well (See D. Franck-Kamensky) Started also redaction of the handbook thanks to support of German colleagues; Hamburg and St Petersburg cities’ administration are developing a new Life project as a continuation of this one. The web site is on-line www.infoeco.ru Several article in mass-media: interview in radio, also article written by Thomas, information presented also in newsletter and press release of the city. Nearly all other tasks are to start next year. Metadata catalogue will be developed. Target district will be Krondstadt. It has all type of economic activities and have municipal and district limits overlapping. Technical task 3, 4, and 5 are running next year, including training of experts running the system and also end-users, together with user manual. The most difficult is to provide information to users, which is Task 5 that will be done in collaboration with Finnish side. Establish working groups for tasks 3 to 6 tasks, study visit to France beginning of next year. |
