Did you publish How-to or user guides? How did you advertise the system?How did you make your public know about the launch / existence of the information system? Tracking information and usersHow do you track the information used?Do you trace the use of your information?If yes, describe the means involved in tracking the information accessed and used. How do you identify what your information is used for? How do you survey IS users?Describe the means involved in tracking users' profile, how do you estimate the number of regular users? What kind of users statistics are you compiling?; distinguish between routine survey (e.g. Internet site access statistics) and comprehensive or targeted survey (e.g. on-line enquiries) do you conduct comprehensive customers' survey. secure users' feed back How do you secure users feed-back?Describe mechanisms allowing any user to express new request, complaints, advice, satisfaction / dissatisfaction, etc. Here again distinguish between routine feed-back mechanisms (e.g. the “did you find this page useful?”) and targeted or comprehensive survey (e.g. Users' opinion survey). Sharing information sourcesWhat is the level of centralisation of your system?Describe if your system run in priority as decentralised (i.e. in relation with other services or information providers) or centralised (i.e. you are the main entity responsible for providing and publishing information)? In case of a decentralised system, what are the main custodians involved?Please, describe how you identified the custodians1 to involve, the institutional arrangements passed; give details on the main framework dataset and main custodians behind each dataset. How do you secure the elimination of duplication in data acquisition and maintenance?This concern both decentralised and centralised IS; describe particularly mechanisms implemented to avoid conflict of paternity, use, rights to access/modified. Is your information copyrighted?How do you manage the copyright? In particular, give details about copyrights obligations made to users and custodians. Did you study the possibility to use copyleft or GNU Open licences? Legislative issues related to sharing the informationDid the development of your system obliged you to modify legislation to respect i.e. privacy, ownership, copyrights, etc.? Explain what were the main legislative issues you faced when developing your system. System integrity and securityWhat are the main threat to your IS?Describe the main threat in term of system security / integrity you identified. Have you been subject to any attack or destructive intrusion or …? Securing and reinforcing system integrityHow do you secure the development and maintenance of system standards? Please, details your answer in relation with other custodians involved. System standards includes e.g. units, formats, frequency (in case of up-dated information). Quality control proceduresDescribe the main steps of testing/checking the information before making it available. Information cost & priceWhat pricing policy do you follow?Detail your information policy: is your information made available free of charge? Is the information processing free? How and who do you charge? What is your pricing system? Who pay? How do you secure that data access is not limited by its price? Running cost structureWhat is overall cost you support for providing information? Give an estimate of the structure of the running costs to keep the system up and running. How are they evaluated? In particular, distinguish between hardware, software, human, consumables, information (in case you buy dataset to others). What is the level of cost-recovery of your system?Is this revenue enough to maintain the all infrastructure? What level of self-financing did you reached? Evaluate a cost-recovery ratio by assessing, on one hand the cost incurred, and, on the other hand, the income received. |
